Background:
Alissa Whitmore is a fifth year archaeology grad student. She is writing her dissertation on Gender in the Roman Public Baths, and is interested in how archaeology can shed light on gendered uses of space. Her broader interests include gendered archaeology, gender and sexuality, classical civilizations, receptions of antiquity in modern periods, the intersections between archaeology, the academy, and the public, and popular culture.
