iowa student athlete advisory committee

The Community Service committee encourages and facilitates active participation by student athletes in volunteer activities on campus and throughout the Iowa City community.

The Hawkeye Day of Caring, a hallmark project of the Service committee, is a community wide day of service in which UI student-athletes, coaches, and administrators conduct youth activities, spend time with senior citizens, clean parks, serve meals, collect and deliver canned goods to the food bank, amongst other activities.

Other service activities sponsored by ISAAC are Hawkeye PRIDE, the Youth Leadership Program, hospital visits and Ronald McDonald House volunteers. Student athletes, individually and as teams, engage in several non-ISAAC sponsored events as well, such as the Light the Night Walk and Habitat for Humanity.

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, several representatives from ISAAC and the general student-athlete body have participated in relief efforts, particularly canning for the American Red Cross. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
