The Social committee's purpose is to encourage a spirit of community among all student athletes. The main event hosted each year by the Social committee is the Fall Student Athlete Kickoff. The Kickoff, will celebrate its 17th year in 2009, introduces new student-athletes to the Hawkeye community, and celebrates the athletic and academic successes achieved by student-athletes in the past year.

The Social committee also plans a Spring Social.
