Bowl For Kids Sake is an annual fundraiser for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. In Johnson County, this event usually takes place toward the end of the month of February. This event is extremely important, as it constitutes a third of BBBS of JC’s budget.

The Bowl For Kids’ Sake Challenge: How much fun can YOU have in one hour?
Iowa Saturday February 23rd and 24th, 2008 for Bowl For Kids’ Sake (BFKS) at Colonial Lanes and help support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Johnson County.

We all know the premise of BBBS, what most people don’t know is that kids who participate have experience higher academic performance and school attendance rates, lower risk for substance abuse, and increased self-esteem. BFKS accounts for ONE THIRD of their annual budget and helps more kids in our community get matched with “big brothers” and “big sisters”!

THE BFKS 2008 CHALLENGE:

*Help BBBS at Iowa meet their goal of forming 100 TEAMS for this years’ event!

HOW?
*It’s easy! Grab 5 other friends, create your team name, raise ~$75 each ($500 per team), and join in the fun!
*Download a team registration form and get started!
*Donations made easy! Set up your own donation page at: http://bbbsjc.kintera.org and start e-mailing your family & friends!

Each team bowls for one hour at Colonial Lanes (2253 Old Highway 218 S, Iowa City, IA 52246)
and you get a free BFKS t-shirt. Prizes from local businesses are drawn every 5-10 minutes, so you might even walk away with a gift card to your favorite local shop or restaurant!

The theme this year is tropical— Prizes will be awarded to best dressed individual, team, and tackiest Hawaiian shirt!
