REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Pre-registration is requested. On-site registration will be held in
the Richey Ballroom Reception Area of the Iowa Memorial Union.
The Regular Registration fee includes all
program materials, refreshment breaks, and scheduled meals.
The Student Registration fee does not include
materials or meals. Students must attach a letter from the registrar of their institution
verifying that they are enrolled at least half-time for the spring semester or quarter 2001.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
All but $20 of the registration fee is refundable if your cancellation request is received on or
before Monday, May 14, 2001. Refunds cannot be given for cancellations
received after May 14, 2001.
Continuing Education Units
This program has been approved for .3 CEUs for May 18 and .5 CEUs for May 19. The total program
is approved for .8 CEUs. There is a $5 cost for CEU processing that you must include with your
registration fee. Please indicate on your registration form if you will be applying for
continuing education units.
Lodging
Participants are responsible for arranging their own overnight accommodations. Conference rates
for the Rural Gifted Education Conference have been negotiated with the Iowa House and the
Clarion Hotel; rooms will be available at the conference rate on a first-come, first-served
basis until their respective cut-off deadlines. Please indicate you are attending the Wallace
Rural Gifted Education Conference when making your reservations. Names of other hotels are
available upon request.
The Iowa House (319-335-3513) is located in
the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU). Rates are $74 single/double plus tax per night. River-view rooms
are $79 single/double plus tax.

The Clarion Hotel (319-351-5049) is located
in Coralville, a 10 minute-drive from the conference site. Rates are $69 (single/double) plus
tax per night.

Air Travel
The Eastern Iowa Airport is located twenty minutes from downtown Iowa City and is served by most
major airlines.

Parking
Parking is available in the Iowa Memorial Union Parking Ramp and at the North Campus Ramp,
located directly across from IMU and one block north of the IMU, respectively. Fees are $.60 per
hour or $6.00 per day. Additional parking is available at public parking lots within walking
distance of the IMU.
