House of Flying Daggers
FILM SUMMARY

It is 859 AD, and the Tang Dynasty, one of the most enlightened empires in Chinese history at its height, is in decline. Unrest is spreading throughout the land, and many rebel armies are forming in protest. The largest, and most prestigious, is an underground alliance called the House of Flying Daggers. Leo and Jin are police men ordered to find the Flying Daggers. After an encounter with Mei, a beautiful blind dancer, Jin must partner with her in hopes of tracking the Flying Daggers to their lair. Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times writes, "The film is so good to look at and listen to that, as with some operas, the story is almost beside the point, serving primarily to get us from one spectacular scene to another."
