The state of Iowa, largely through world-class organizations like the Center for Biocatalysis and Bioprocessing (CBB), stands at the center of a global revolution in biotechnology. At its inception more than 20 years ago, the CBB became the first and largest organization
in the world to organize a multidisciplinary research group with a primary focus on the areas of biocatalysis and bioprocessing. Two decades later, the Center remains dedicated to education, research and technology transfer. At CBB, our goal is to reshape the agricultural, chemical, nutritional, and pharmaceutical industries by combining the intellectual talents of top scientific faculty with the practical delivery of new technologies. Confidential collaborations with clients enable our laboratory to produce products and develop processes for industry, government, and academia. Today, CBB is Iowas primary contract research facility for fermentation and bioprocessing. The Center is proud of its worldwide reputation for excellence.
