General Information

Objectives and Focus
CBB conference, 2009, will be held on Oct. 19 & 20. The theme is "Biofuels, Biochemicals & Protein Production". This year's conference will focus on a multitude of approaches towards production of biofuels and chemicals from biomass. The mix of topics will also include emerging trends in the production of complex therapeutic proteins. Cost of protein production must come down whether the application is biofuels, biochemicals or protein biopharmaceuticals. CBB has identified a good mix of experts from industry and academia for an exciting conference. There will also be an update on CBB offerings and future direction. In addition, a wide range of topics will be covered in the poster session, where we anticipate more than 50 posters. We expect to offer an intellectually stimulating experience.

Conference Location
The CBB conference will be held on The University of Iowa campus at the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU), on Madison Street.

Advanced registration is encouraged. The registration fee is $200 ($100 for students and postdoctorals), which includes all conference meals and expenses except for travel and lodging. The late registration fee is $250 (after October 1, 2009). Registration may be done online at:www.uiowa.edu/~biocat/conference
