Manual Communication - 003:140
Difficulty in developing spoken language skills may be the result of a variety of conditions, including significant hearing impairment. A manual communication system which parallels spoken English is an effective educational tool to facilitate a speech training program. A therapist must master receptive and expressive manual communication skills in order to effectively provide such speech training services.

It is the goal of this course to provide you with an introduction to Signed English, the knowledge to differentiate between hearing and Deaf culture, and an appreciation for the communication needs of people who rely partially or wholly on vision for communication.

This web site contains over 600 videos of words and phrases represented in SIGNED ENGLISH. This content is divided in 10 units corresponding to those used in the course, Manual Communication 003:140.
