Bibliography   I offer a quarterly annotated bibliography in each issue of the Walt Whitman Quarterly Review. These entries are then put into a searchable database that is available at both the WWQR website and the Whitman Archive. This database has nearly 10,000 items, searchable by author, title, publisher, year, and keyword. It covers everything published on Whitman from 1975 to the present. You can access it, as well as access all essays and notes published in WWQR, here. In the last two years, the Whitman Archive bibliography has also absorbed all the entries in these two resources, so that the searchable bibliography now takes you back to the very first things written on Whitman right up to the present: Scott Giantvalley, Walt Whitman, 1838-1939: A Reference Guide (1981). Donald D. Kummings, Walt Whitman, 1940-1975: A Reference Guide (1982). Also useful are Jeanetta Boswell's Walt Whitman and the Critics: A Checklist of Criticism, 1900-1978 (1980) and Brent Gibson's An Annotated Walt Whitman Bibliography, 1976-1985 (2001); Gibson's bibliography is valuable because many of the pre-1985 items in the searchable database are not yet annotated, and all these items are annotated by Gibson in his book.
