Course Description:
Electromagnetic and mechanical waves, thermodynamics, and relativity.
Homework:
Assigned every Friday, due the following Friday. No credit for late homework.
Exams:
Three one-hour exams and one two-hour final exam.
Grading:
Homework - 10%
Laboratory - 15%
Mid-term exams - 15% each
Final exam - 30%
There will be no make-ups for the one-hour exams except in truly extraordinary circumstances for which the student comes to the instructor before the exam to plan a make-up. Only 8 of the 10 labs will count toward grading, so there will be no make-up laboratories.
Laboratory:
Laboratory is a key part of the course. Lab does not meet during the first week of class. Eating and drinking in laboratory is not allowed.
