'He was in the mall, walking along, firing'
SWAT officers take up positions at the mall.

Police say a man armed with an assault rifle opened fire inside a mall in downtown Tacoma, Washington, on Sunday, wounding six people, one of them critically. "He was in the mall, walking along, firing," a police spokesman said. The suspect then took three music store employees hostage and held them until police negotiators convinced him to surrender. The hostages were not harmed.
