CLASS NOTES:
Important: I have been elected as a pledged John Edwards Delegate (voting for Obama) to the Democratic National Convention, August 25-29, 2008, in Denver. The result is that I will NOT be in town for our first class meeting on August 25. However, we will STILL HAVE CLASS that day. I will be meeting the class remotely via webcam, so you are expected to be there!
Please note. One of the requirements of this class is to participate in an Exit Poll on election day (Nov 4.) For the exit poll members of the class will spend up to four hours at a polling location asking voters to answer questions. The results will then be discussed in class to help us understand what the Iowa City and Coraville electorate was thinking in 2008. You will need to be available during at least one polling shift on Tuesday, November 4. Shifts will probably run from 7:30-11:30, 11:00-3:00, 2:30-6:30. Locations will be in Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty. Please be prepared to participate in this project if you are a member of this class. If you have questions, please email me. To see some of our results from a previous exit poll (2006), click here (Powerpoint format).
