Each of the tabs in the navigation bar at the top of the screen represents a main section of the website. Here are brief descriptions of each tab:

Vokabelaufbau introduces key vocabulary you will encounter in the Einkaufen, Kochen, Tisch decken, and Guten Appetit! sections.

The Einkaufen, Kochen, Tisch decken and Guten Appetit! tabs contain videos that follow the two main characters, Ulrike and Fatima, as they plan, shop for, and prepare a typical German meal for some guests they have invited. A Vorschau page at the beginning of each of these sections previews the videos by asking you to draw on the knowledge you already have. After the Vorschau activities, you can watch the videos. Activities accompany each video to help you assess your comprehension and to apply the knowledge you gain.

The Ressourcen section offers help with navigation (Hilfe), and provides a sitemap (Seitenplan), a glossary (Wörterbuch), a list of recipes (Rezepte) for German dishes, a list of links to other Web resources (Andere Webseiten), and humorous blunders that occurred during the videotaping of each clip (Outtakes).
