Course Objectives |
By the end of this course students will be able to create an electronic portfolio as a job seeking or career enhancement tool. Students will gain practical experience using digital tools and be able to discuss content and design issues as they relate to electronic portfolio production.

Prerequisites |
Students should be able to perform computer functions and use a World Wide Web browser.

Materials |
Students must have an active e-mail account, access to the World Wide Web and a disk or their own hard drive to store materials on. All other materials will be distributed via this Web site and associated WebCT site. Upon registering for the course students will be provided with their login and password for the Web CT site where course content is available. Students should have access to a scanner and/or digital camera or slide scanner. Many of the software packages covered in this course are available for downloading free off the Internet on a trial basis. All software and hardware covered are available in The University of Iowa College of Education Computer Resources Lab, N186 Lindquist Center.

Grading |
Pass or fail grades will be assigned. To receive a passing grade the student must have a functional professional portfolio meeting instructors guidelines, complete three writing projects (2-3 pages each), and pass a competency quiz on content and design issues.
