- To enhance your cultural
awareness and content for isiZulu.
- To encourage
collaboration with one another and eventually with your counterparts/
peers who may
be both L1 speakers and L2 speakers who are in KwaZulu-Natal,
in South Africa.
- You will
be using the
WebCT discussion board, and chats where possible in terms of time zone
difference.
- To expose
you to at least three of the important cultural ceremonies
of amaZulu involving cattle slaughter [E.g. Rite of
passage for
females “umemulo”,
communicating with or appeasing ancestral spirits "ukubuyisa",
and a wedding situation and “ilobolo”,(sometimes
translated as ‘bride-price) an equivalent of dowry in some
cultures.]
