EPSDT Registry – 2002 Update

In March of 2002 the University of Iowa Department of Pediatric Dentistry conducted a statewide survey that asked dentists whether they were willing to see new patients on Title XIX (Medicaid), children under the age of three, and children with developmental disabilities. They were also asked if they would be willing to have their name included in a statewide registry of dentists willing to accept patients in any of these categories. This survey was done to update a previous registry completed in 2000.

This registry is not meant to be considered a definitive guide. Many dentists in the state see children from all three categories mentioned, but prefer to not have their name published in a registry. Further, the dentists whose names are included in this registry are not bound by any agreements to accept new patients. Some dentists included in the registry added qualifying comments to their responses that are not included here.
