Brief Professional Resume:
Dr. Warren joined the University of Iowa College of Dentistry
as a postdoctoral associate in 1991. He became an adjunct assistant
professor in the department of Preventive & Community Dentistry
in 1996. In 1999 he became full-time assistant professor in the
department.
Research Activities: Dr. Warren's current research includes
longitudinal sucking patterns and dental arch development; longitudinal
study of fluoride exposures and dental fluorosis; fluoride and
other factors in childhood bone development; and oral health and
nutrition in the elderly.
Teaching Responsibilities: Dr. Warren's teaches both predoctoral
and graduate classes; his predoctoral responsibilities include
clinical preventive dentistry, the practice of dentistry in the
community, and introduction to quality assurance; his graduate
responsibilities include statistical computing and an introductory
in oral epidemiology.
Clinical Activities: Dr. Warren's clinical activities
include teaching in the predoctoral preventive dentistry clinics
and various clinical research projects.
National or International Professional Appointments or Activities:
Dr Warren is a diplomate, American Board of Dental Public Health
(1995). He is a calibrated examiner for the Iowa Fluoride Study
and for the Iowa Study of Oral Lesions in the Elderly. He serves
as a consultant to the Oral Health Bureau, Iowa Department of
Public Health, on the statewide oral health survey. Dr. Warren
is a reviewer for Journal of Public Health Dentistry, Community
Dentistry Oral Epidemiology, Journal of Dental Research and Special
Care in Dentistry,
