General Information
The text for this course will be Cases and Materials on Federal Indian Law (Getches, Wilkinson, and Williams, 5th ed. 2005). Classes will meet in Room 275 on Mondays from 2:20 to 3:50 pm and on Wednesdays from 2:40 to 4:10 pm. Reading assignments are listed in the outline below.
You will be permitted to consult the casebook and your class notes or outlines during the final examination, which will be a three-hour essay exam. The exam is scheduled for Monday, December 11 at 8:30 am. Grades will be based on this final exam, however, class attendance and participation may be counted for up to ten percent of your grade. I would like to hear from anyone who has a disability which may require seating modifications or testing accommodations or accommodations of other class requirements, so that appropriate arrangements can be made. Please contact me during my office hours.

Special note: Students in this class may be permitted, but will not be required,
to write their final exams on laptop computers. Those choosing to do so must
supply their own computers, which must meet certain specifications, and use
the SecurExam software which is sold in the ISBA Bookstore. Further information

relating to computers and software should be directed to Student Computer Services
in Room 130 in the library. Updates on deadlines and other information regarding
laptop exams will also be distributed via email or in "The Docket."
