The Evert Conner Center, formerly Independent Living, Inc., has been a community based organization since 1979 serving people with all types of disabilities from all cultural backgrounds. The majority of the Board of Directors and the staff are people with disabilities. The mission of the Evert Conner Center is to assist individuals with disabilities to advocate for themselves in order to achieve greater independence and integrated community participation.
