CDA Achievement Award
Call for Nominations

You can nominate a person or group for the 1998 Achievement Award.

In 1997, the Council on Disability Awareness established an Achievement Award Program, acknowledging efforts and achievements of individuals or organizations for facilitating the integration and inclusion of persons with disabilities in campus life or within the community at large. The first award, given to Hancher Auditorium, was announced at the November 4, 1997 Public Forum on Disability.

This year's award recipient will be announced during Martin Luther King Human Rights Week, on January 20, 1999, 4-5 p.m., at a special presentation in the South Room, IMU. (The nomination criteria are at the bottom of this page.)
The deadline for submitting nominations is  December 15, 1998.

Criteria for Nominations:
(Nominees should meet at least one of the following)

1) A voluntary specific effort taken to improve access of persons with disabilities.
2) An effort demonstrating an on-going commitment for the facilitation of access for persons with disabilities.
3) Efforts demonstrating on-going advocacy on behalf of persons with disabilities.
4) Individual or group contributions resulting in an increase in accessibility for persons with disabilities.
5) Individual or group contributions resulting in an increased awareness of disability issues, concerns, and needs.
