CENTER ON AGING RESEARCH WEEK POSTER AWARD

As part of Research Week 2008 (April 1-2) the UI Center on Aging[COA] will judge posters that are related to research on aging. An award of $350 (separate from the College of Public Health and the Carver College of Medicine awards) will be conferred by the COA on the best research poster and abstract relative to aging. NOTE: During the online registration/application process for the research poster, participants are asked question #8- Is your research related to aging?Please check box #8 and then briefly describe how your poster relates to research on aging in the next field.

Held annually, the 2008 Carver College of Medicine Research Week will be presented April 1 and 2 in the Medical Education and Research Facilities Building [MERF]. Poster sessions for graduate/medical students and postdoctoral fellows, faculty and staff will occur. Presentations by three leading researchers in their field will take place at various times. Also, on April 3 rd at 4:00 PM during Research Week the Center on Aging is arranging a special Parkin lecture presentation Geneson aging by Cynthia Kenyon, PhD. University of California at San Francisco, whose research on long-lived C. elegans sparked an interest in the field of the biology of aging.
