Mia Nussbaum

Mia has taught American women’s writing in an Indiana YWCA; English in Tamil Nadu, India; Literature at an all-girls high school in Manhattan; Rhetoric, Creative Writing and Grammar at the University of Iowa; and is presently a tutor in the Patient Voice Project. She graduated from the great books program at the University of Notre Dame, where she was named the most outstanding female student, worked as an editorial assistant at Harper’s Magazine in New York, and received her MFA in nonfiction writing from the University of Iowa in 2006. Her poetry and prose have appeared in Third Coast, the Mid-American Review, the Philadelphia Inquirer, Commonweal, Salamander, and elsewhere. Presently she is a Provost’s Post-Graduate Writing Fellow, working at the International Writing Program in Iowa City.
