We welcome you to our newly renovated undergraduate facilities nestled in the center core of the Chemistry Building on the corner of Madison and Market Streets in Iowa City, IA. Five Principles in Chemistry I & II laboratories are hosted in the 3rd floor suite surrounding the main Prep Room while Organic for nonmajors and all major course laboratories share the suite of five labs on the 4th floor surrounding the NMR facility, Laser Room and Instrument Room including a Satellite Prep Lab. Each floor is staffed with a Laboratory Manager and a host of Laboratory Assistants/Monitors (undergraduate science majors) to assure safety and efficiency through knowledge and experience in a quality environment.

This website was created to educate and inform regarding safety, policies and procedures in the chemistry laboratory and the use of our facilities, instrumentation and equipment. Safety saves lives, yet allows for creativity in the classroom, laboratory or instrumental facility.
