Marcia Lindgren received a baccalaureate degree with honors from Southern Connecticut State University and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from The University of Iowa. She served for ten years as an assistant to the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at The University of Iowa, during which time she taught several courses for the Department of Classics. She has been director of the Latin program since 2000. In addition to Latin language pedagogy, her interests include Latin elegy and Latin lyric poetry. She is co-author with Helena Dettmer of the newly revised Workbook to Accompany Donald M. Ayers’s English Words from Latin and Greek Elements.
