Mission Statement
The University of Iowa's local chapter of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is a student run organization for undergraduate and graduate students in speech language pathology and audiology. This organization promotes departmental and community involvement as well as opportunities for national membership and participation.

Who can join NSSLHA? All part-time or full-time undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students in speech language pathology and audiology, who have not yet received or applied for their Certificates of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
What are the benefits of joining NSSLHA?
- Greater awareness and appreciation of issues involved in speech-language pathology and audiology.
- Reduced rate for joining ASHA after graduate school through the NSSLHA-to-ASHA Conversion Program
- Membership into ASHA's Special Interest Divisions
