Sometimes undergraduates are interested in working in the lab. This gives you the opportunity to see actual research in action. What you actually do will depend in part on when you work in the lab. You might get a chance to help create stimuli or design an experiment. You almost certainly would get to help see the children who come to our lab and play some of the language games with them along with another RA (we always see children in teams!). You might be invited to help analyze the data or interpret the results from an experiment.

Typically you can work for me for course credit. I would prefer that you sign up for 3 credit hours (approximately 10 hours/week commitment to the lab) and be able to work at least two consecutive semesters. There is a lot of training involved in learning to work with the children and analyze data. Often the first semester is just spent learning the ropes! You will also be expected to attend weekly lab meetings and participate in discussions within the lab. If you are interested in participating in the Grammar Acquisition Lab, you can email me for an appointment. We will meet to see if the lab seems like a good fit with your interests and schedule.
