Lecture Program

20th Annual SEECMO Meeting, May 21-23, 2010 University of Iowa

Intended Audience

The program is designed for physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, cardiovascular perfusionists and advanced practice professionals who are active in the clinical application, research and development of Extracorporeal Life Support therapies.

Purpose

This 3-day conference will provide updated research, application and skill development in Extracorporeal Life Support designed to improve the care and management for patients and their families.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this conference, the participant should be able to:

  • Validate and expand knowledge on current Extracorporeal Life Support practice standards.
  • Examine issues and trends that impact care delivery and practice.
  • Refine clinical judgment and critical thinking skills through case analysis of patient care and healthcare delivery issues.
  • Develop a professional network of colleagues and associates in practice and industry.
  • Stimulate inquiry into the fields of clinical practice, education, research, and leadership.

Credits:

The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 12.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.  

Nursing CEU:
1.32 CEUs will be granted by the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics Department of Nursing (Iowa Board of Nursing Approved Provider #34).  Participants must attend the entire program to receive full credit.  Questions concerning nursing credits should be directed to the Nursing Clinical Education Center at 319-356-4304.

Respiratory Therapist CEU:
11.75 CEUs will be granted by the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Participants must attend the entire program to receive full credit. 

Cardiovascular Perfusionist CEU:
14.0 Category I CEUs will be granted by the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics for full conference participation. Partial credit is allowed as follows: 3.3 CEUs for Friday, May 21st; 8.0 CEUs for Saturday, May 22nd; and 2.7 CEUs for Sunday, May 23rd. Participants must attend the full day to receive the daily credit.

Participants are required to sign in EVERY DAY at the Registration Desk to verify attendance; photo ID is required. 

Content:
