About the project directors
- Judy Polumbaum teaches a range of writing and media courses for UI's School of Journalism and Mass Communication, including courses on arts reporting and sports journalism, and also teaches in the Iowa Summer Writing Festival. Much of her scholarly research focuses on mass media in China.

- Steve Thunder-McGuire is a nationally known storyteller, dedicated to both telling tales connecting the personal with the universal and fostering other people's abilities to tell theirs. He regularly teaches a course titled "What is Storytelling For" for UI's program in Literature, Science and the Arts. He and Polumbaum team-taught this course in spring semester 2002.

- Doug Allaire, instructional technology coordinator in the College of Education and a proficient videographer and webmaster, has taught video and web production in both the School of Journalism and Mass Communication and the College of Education.
