Carol Hurst's Children's Literature Site - This is a collection of reviews of great books for kids, ideas of ways to use them in the classroom and collections of books and activities about particular subjects, curriculum areas, themes and professional topics.

Children's Book Council - The Children's Book Council (CBC) is a non-profit trade organization dedicated to encouraging literacy and the use and enjoyment of children's books since 1945. The CBC sponsors Young People's Poetry Week and National Children's Book Week each year. Site contains articles, links to author sites, and announcements of new books published.

Children's Literature Web Guide - Among the many sites available through this directory are author sites, discussion boards, award sites, publishers' sites, and links to teacher resources.

Fairrosa Cyber Library - Links the user to booklists, discussions of children's literature, publisher/bookseller information and more even more sites about children's literature.

Kay E. Vandgergrift's Special Interest Page - This website is a means of sharing ideas and information with all those interested in literature for children and young adults. For many topics, Dr. Vandergrift has written brief articles accompanied by many additional links and bibliographies of materials that reinforce discussion. The easiest way to navigate is with the "quick Start" search bar at the bottom of the main page.

Picturing Books - This site is all about picture books. Among the many topics presented  are design, artistic style, and media with examples provided for each. Numerous bibliographies and links to additional sites are included.

Association for Library Service to Children. Awards and Grants page - This site offers a current listing of awards sponsored by the divisions or sections of the American Library Association. Includes the Newbery Award, the Caldecott Award, and the Coretta Scott King Award as well as notable booklists.

Blue Ribbon Awards - Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Book’s annual list of the previous year’s best and archived lists.

Boston Globe - Horn Book Award - Annual award for authors and ill ustrators of outstanding children’s and young adult books in these three categories: Fiction and Poetry, Nonfiction, and Picture Book.

Children’s Choices - Co-Sponsored by the International Reading Association and the Children’s Book Council. Approximately 100 titles chosen annually by children in the United States.

Fanfare - Horn Book’s Honor List from the previous year’s books, archived lists, and additional booklists.

Iowa Teen Award - chosen by students.

International Reading Association Awards - Children's Choices and Young Adults' Choices are chosen by children and young adults across the U.S. Teachers' Choices are selected by teachers, reading specialists, and librarian for their usefulness in the classroom.

NCTE Orbis Pictus Award for Outstanding Nonfiction for Children - Established in 1990; given by a committee from the National Council of Teacher's of English for books published during the previous year.

Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) - Awards and booklists from this division of the American Library Association can be found at this page.

Young Adults’ Choices - Sponsored by the International Reading Association, 30 titles selected annually by young adults across the United States.

Magazines and Review Sources

Booklist - Some older reviews with searching capability. Editor’s Choice list for previous years.

Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Books - Searchable database for print subscribers, some articles, booklists, and commentary.

Horn Book - Table of contents from current magazine with some full-text articles, a few sample reviews, and booklists.

School Library Journal - Indexes to SLJ in print, including book and AV reviews, articles, and links.

The Shy Librarian - Reviews some children's, young adult, and professional books. Contains linkes to sites especially helpful to librarians.
