Registering and Creating your Dance Marathon Online Giving page

  1. Click on the link REGISTER NOW. If you are already registered, click on the link for PARTICIPANT LOGIN, enter your username and password, and proceed to step 9.


  2. Fill out the following registration information.


  3. Read through the Consent Waiver and Media Release; to continue you will need to select "agree".


  4. The next menu has you select your area of participation (please select the correct group)

    • Dancer: General registration if you are going to be a dancer at the "BIG Event"

    • Leadership Team: only if you are a part of the DM Leadership Team

    • Family: only for those with DM Family or Friend status


  5. Complete the specific information section.


  6. Complete the personal information section.


  7. When paying the $25 registration fee, your current address is the default for the "Billing address" of your credit card. Make sure to change the address to your billing address.

    • Your billing address is the address that the credit card is registered to, aka current school address or permanent home address.


  8. Go to your Dashboard (your personal donation page)


  9. Set your fundraising goal. You only have to raise $400 but we encourage you to go above and beyond. Set your goal higher, your family and friends will come through!


  10. This is where you will create your page (think of it as your own DM Facebook page). You will see icons at the top that indicate all of the things you can do with your webpage.

    • First, under the To Do section select "Design my Webpage" and then "Edit my Webpage."

    • Type in a message in your "My Introduction" section and make all other changes you would like.

    • Add pictures and/or change the color of your "Fundraising Thermometer"

    • Click on "Save Changes" when you are finished


  11. Once you have created your page, it’s time to email it out! You can select "Send Email" under the To Do list or you can use the address book option at the top of the page.

      Here is a list of everyone you should email: Mom, Dad, Brothers, Sisters, Grandparents, Aunt’s, Uncle’s, Cousins, boss, co-workers, doctors, teachers, advisors, house mom, residence hall director, RA, graduate assistants, old employers, all of your friends, your friends parents, anyone you know with a business, and many more!


  12. Don’t know an email address? Everyone loves snail mail. There are letters on the website that you can use to mail to family and friends.

    • Make sure to include the link to your personal donation page to help get quicker and easier donations!

    • Include your NAME and DANCER # on all return envelopes so you will get credit for money that you raise.

    • Turn your checks or cash in to the Box Office in the Iowa Memorial Union and make sure to fill out the deposit form.


  13. Don’t forget to send a special thank you to those who donate online to you. You can do this by selecting the Send Thank You icon.


  14. Best of Luck! We know that you will go above and beyond to help us raise funds for hospitalized children treated at The University of Iowa Children’s Hospital through Children’s Miracle Network.
