DCN Assists Businesses

  • The University of Iowa’s Dual Career Network (DCN) is often the first to know of newcomers coming to the Corridor area. It may be advantageous for you to offer a competitive employment situation before your competitors.
  • The DCN provides you with pre-screened, well-educated, experienced applicants for your job openings, with no strings attached and NO FEES.
  • DCN staff will only contact you when they have an appropriate candidate for a visible job opening, or when they think a client’s talents work well with your company mission.  You will not receive large numbers of resumes or be endlessly hounded by the DCN.
  • DCN staff are available to tour your business and talk with you about upcoming hiring needs and learn of your company’s work culture in order to send you the best qualified candidates.
  • Newcomers to the area want to know where it’s “hot” to work and where it’s “not hot” to work.  By helping us understand your culture and your sourcing needs, the DCN is better able to showcase your business to potential employees.
  • DCN clientele is typically comprised of a high percentage of women and minorities and may therefore be a valuable resource in fulfilling your diversity initiatives.
  • You may advertise your job openings with the DCN at no cost.  Simply email your job descriptions to garry-klein@uiowa.edu.
  • The DCN provides “limited service appointments” to people not affiliated with the University.  A resume review, job leads, community information and valuable networking contact leads are provided in this one-time meeting.  You may refer your employees’ accompanying partners to this service.
  • By working with the DCN on a collaborative basis, we may be able to provide you with ideas for University resources for your business needs.
  • The earnings of successful DCN clients, typically over $1 million annually, are spent in our communities, helping to bolster the Corridor economy.
