"I have no doubt that the fraternity has helped me get better grades. It is expected that you will
get good grades here. I have become more disciplined in studying and I don't want to let the house down by getting a low G.P.A."
--Colby Nordyke, Class of 2009

"During Thanksgiving break I came back to Iowa City a couple of days early because I missed my buddies at Delta Chi. I told my parents that I was going home early, and then I realized that this was now really my
home."
--Eddie Anders, Class of 2007
"I came from a two year college where I was involved in a large number of activities. The University
of Iowa is huge but with Delta Chi I don't get lost in the crowd and feel that I can still make a difference. The
guys in the House 'have my back'. They care about me and how I am doing. I am the only son in our family. I now have a second family and know what it is like to have the brothers that I did not have when I grew up."
--Luke Kluesner, Class of 2007
"This place brings in boys and helps mold them into young men. The fraternity has made me well rounded and I am a better communicator and leader because of my time here."
--Mark Lucas, Class of 2007
"Right after I received a bid from Delta Chi, one of the guys in the fraternity called me and asked
if I needed a ride to a House event. It really impressed me that he reached out to me like that."
--Jake Riley, Class of 2009
"Delta Chi really helped me make the transition to college. I was much less homesick than I had
expected to be. The fraternity made a tremendous difference for me as it could have been very difficult to be so far from family and friends. I had 30 new friends the first week I was on campus."
--Adam Maeder, Class of 2009
"I like the fact that we are not a big house with a lot of members. I would feel comfortable walking into any room in the House and sitting down and talking with the guy who lives in that room. There are no cliques."
--Alex Hoppe, Class of 2009

"I would have to attribute Delta Chi with providing me with life long friendships which I would not
have been able to have had I not joined. Among my closest friends are my fraternity brothers, who are just as close
to me as any one of my blood relatives. I still keep in touch with all of them, take family vacations with one
another, and always meet up for Delta Chi events in Iowa City (Homecoming and alumni golf). These friendships have
assisted with job networking, getting me to travel around the U.S., and I even have had my fraternity brothers help me
fix up my new house! I never would have thought joining a fraternity with members with such diverse personalities/backgrounds would have the everlasting effect that it has had on my life."
--Jonathan Larson, Class of 2002
"I have tremendous loyalty to the University of Iowa and to Delta Chi. It was a very positive, life changing experience for me. I learned every thing from table etiquette and social skills to how to lead and interact with people whose background was quite different from my own. Delta Chi really caused me to concentrate on academics and become a more focused and disciplined student. The men who were my fraternity brothers over 40 years ago are still some of my closest friends."
--Ken Padgham, Class of 1965, Law School Graduate 1968
"I was introverted when I came out of high school and my days at Delta Chi really helped develop self confidence and my comfort level in meeting new people. I met the young woman who became my wife at a fraternity/sorority exchange."
--John Lepley, Class of 1972
