The English Department honored its top undergraduates at a ceremony on April 27, 2007 in the Lasansky Print Room and Willis Atrium at the UI Museum of Art. Nearly a hundred faculty members, students, and their guests were treated to live piano music and hors d'oeuvres before the program, which recognized also English students garnering awards from University Honors Program or the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Departmental award winners were honored with professionally calligraphed certificates and advisers remarked on the projects of students graduating with honors in English. For more information on students graduating with honors, visit our 2006-2007 Thesis Writers pages.

English students Leslie Koppenhaver, Amy Domeyer, Lisa Raffensperger, and Jenna Sauers sample the hors d'oeuvres provided by IMU Catering.
Friends and relatives of honorees attended the event, which was held on a beautiful Friday afternoon.
Collegiate Scholars Lisa Raffesperger and Leslie Koppenhaver enjoy fruit before the program. In addition to being honored as a collegiate scholar, Raffensperger was recognized as a English student graduating with honors.
Jason Fries, JoDana Thompson, and Catherine Cassel, all graduating with honors in English this spring, enjoy refreshments with 2006 English honors graduate Michael Lehman before the program. For more information on students graduating with honors, visit our 2006-2007 Thesis Writers pages.
