11.16.07 P&S SEARCH COMMITTEE 1. Rankings & Ratings When entering the EOD Rankings and Ratings on a specific applicant, we have added buttons to the top and bottom of the form, which will save the current information and advance you to the next applicant. This enhancement will decrease the amount of time necessary to rate applicants. 2. Changing the Advertising Date We are moving the ability to change the advertising date information into the Search Committee Options area. The link on the Search Committee Option menu will be called “Manage Requisition Advertising”. Currently you must go to the Workflow-History page and type in the Requisition Number in order to change the advertising date. 3. Total Years of Experience When completing a Search & Selection Summary form that requires HR Compensation & Classification (Comp &Class) review, the system will now require that you calculate and enter the total years experience for the candidate of choice on the summary form. EOD FORMS/WORKFLOW 1. Changing Applicant Ratings Applicant ratings can now be changed on Pre-Interview Report forms and Search & Selection Summary forms while the forms are in Workflow without having to send the forms back to the search committee. This enhancement will eliminate long delays due to errors and/or rework. A change log will be in place and the search chair/admins will receive a basic notification upon a change. 2. Color coding on Pre-Interview Report form On the first round of a Pre-Interview Report form, all applicants selected for interview will be highlighted in purple. If subsequent Pre-Interview Report forms are submitted, the newly added applicants selected for interview will be highlighted in purple and the applicants previously selected for interview will be highlighted in yellow. These changes are being made for ease in reviewing large applicant pools with multiple Pre-Interview Report forms. We will continue to update you on enhancements to the P&S search forms as they are implemented. Installed a new rating structure on applicants The rating structure has been simplified so that the search committee does not need to count the years of experience for applicants who do not meet the basic qualifications for the position. The new Rating Code options are: All basic and desirable (1) For searches that are in process now, the existing ratings have been converted to reflect the new options. Searches conducted with Hire@UIOWA that have been closed already were not converted to the new codes. Closed searches that used the old rating codes of 4,5,6,7 or 8 are now marked with an X to indicate that they are using the old rating codes (i.e. 4_x, 5_x, 6_x, 7_x and 8_x). 2. Pre-Interview Action Code The Pre-Interview Action Codes are now: You will only need to choose an applicant code for those applicants that you either you wish to interview or those who withdrew from consideration. 3. Added the ability to mark a Requisition as a "Specified Term". JOBS@UIOWA 1. Type of Position Added a new section to the Requisition's ad called "Type of Position". The options described will be: "Regular", "Temporary", or "Specified Term". P&S REQUISITION 1. Added an option to mark the Requisition as "Specified Term". HIRE @ UIOWA HOME 1. Loading a draft copy and viewing finalized Requisitions will now be done on the Hire@UIOWA home page. Previously, the Transaction System's logic was used to load/view the requisitions. We will continue to update you on enhancements to the P&S search forms as they are implemented. 7.20.07 1. Created an auto reminder to the search committee that a requisition is about to come off the job line. The reminder goes to requisitions that are about to end in 3 days. The email is sent at 10:59PM. 2. Implemented quicker posting of requisitions to the job line - this is not immediate, however, this process now runs twice an hour, at the top and bottom of the hour. 3. Dropped fax number off of the requisition. 4. Renamed the "P&S Regular" form type to "P&S Existing". 5. Enlarged the job duties and education requirements sections on the requisition. 6. Will provide immediate notification to the search committee and individuals on the Workflow path when the Pre-Interview Report and Search & Selection Summary are approved in Workflow.
