Here are some of this week’s featured events in the University of Iowa community: Hit Prairie Lights for Free Readings This Week—A busy week of live literary events lies ahead at Prairie Lights Books in downtown Iowa City, as the store will host free readings Tuesday through Friday at 7 p.m. (more) Josh Davis Band to Play Concert for Java Blend Series—The Josh Davis Band will perform live as part of the Iowa Public Radio performance series Java Blend at noon, Friday, Oct. 10, in the Java House, 211 East Washington Street. (more) Swimming and Diving Teams to Host Truman State—The University of Iowa men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will host a competition against Truman State University at 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10, at the Field House pool. (more) Bijou to Offer Screenings of My Winnipeg—The Bijou Theater, the independent film house operated by University of Iowa students, will continue its fall screenings in a temporary location—lecture hall 2 of Van Allen Hall—with My Winnipeg at 5, 7, and 9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10.
