Bijou to present British comedy, Japanese classic through Nov. 12
The Bijou Theater, the independent film house operated by University of Iowa students, will show Armando Iannucci’s In the Loop and Akira Kurosawa’s Rashomon Friday–Thursday, Nov. 6–12.
Tickets are $5 ($4 for Sunday matinees) and are available at the University Box Office.
In the vein of Dr. Strangelove, In the Loop is a 2009 British comedy that takes place during a fictional crisis in the Middle East, complete with miscommunications and blunders that lead to political disaster.

- Saturday, Nov. 7: 5 and 9 p.m.
- Sunday, Nov. 8: 3 p.m.
- Monday, Nov. 9: 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, Nov. 10: 9 p.m.
- Wednesday, Nov. 11: 7 p.m.
- Thursday, Nov. 12: 9 p.m.
Kurosawa’s classic 1950 Rashomon is set in feudal Japan and is about a violent crime that occurs in the woods. The story is told through from the perspective of four different characters.
