NATIONAL TESTS

The GRE is used to determine eligibility for admission to graduate programs. The GRE consists of two separate test programs -- the General GRE and Subject GRE's. Contact the institutions to which you are applying for specific GRE score requirements. The General GRE is offered only in a computer-based format, while the GRE subject exams are paper-based.

The UI offers the General GRE Monday through Friday and most Saturdays. To register for the General GRE, call the UI Computer-Based Test Center (CBT) at (319) 335-2480 or register in-person at EES (Map and Directions), on-line at www. gre.org or call 1-800-473-2255.

The UI offers the Subject GRE on all national test dates. For specific dates and registration information, follow the link below.

Information about the GRE and Powerprep GRE practice software is available at http://www.gre.org/
