Here are some common equations and their associated graphs. Nearly all of the graphs that you will encounter in your undergraduate math classes will be transformations of these and similar curves. It is helpful if you know the basic shapes of the curves, so that when you encounter them in problem situations, you’ll be able to proceed more smoothly.
