Edwin L. Dove
It has been an honor and a learning experience to have served in the Faculty Senate, and in the Faculty Council. It is clear from this yearís experience that the struggle to maintain the core values of our university requires the energy, attention, and contributions of many constituents. Potentially one of the most effective contributions comes from the faculty in the form of its Senate and Council deliberations and actions. It is also clear that the effectiveness of the faculty advocacy depends on clear thinking and focused leadership. I would like to participate in the continuation of the tradition of effective faculty leadership by serving as the secretary of the Faculty Senate.
I am an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering. I teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and I have a research program in cardiovascular modeling and imaging. I have served as an interim DEO of Biomedical Engineering, I have contributed to the departmentís strategic planning committee, I have served as the Chair of the department's Graduate and Undergraduate Committees, and I have led the curriculum revision efforts of our department. I have been a member of the Engineering Faculty Council (the faculty governing body of the College of Engineering), and I have served on various collegiate committees. In addition to representing the College of Engineering on the Faculty Senate and Faculty Council, I have served on various university committees and task forces.
