Postal Service to increase rates May 12
The U.S. Postal Service will increase its rates effective May 12, 2008. For First-Class Mail, the retail cost of one-ounce letters will go from 41 to 42 cents each; flats from 80 to 83 cents; parcels from $1.13 to $1.17; and postcards from 26 to 27 cents. Discount mail prices will increase as well, and priority and express mail prices will be announced later.
