Equipment Rental is self insured and all casualty losses are covered in the overhead sector of the rate calculations. If a department experiences a theft or loss of an item of rental equipment, this should be reported as soon as the department becomes aware of the situation. In the event of a theft, Equipment Rental will stop charges to the reporting department as soon as a copy of a Public Safety or police report is received. Departments are expected to provide security for rented items in the same manner as they provide it for their own purchased equipment. Recurring losses in the same department may result in denial of future rentals to that department until evidence of tighter controls is established. |
