University Surplus sells equipment that UI departments no longer need and recycles items that cannot be reused. We are dedicated to selling equipment at a fair market price. Delivery of items is available within the Iowa City area for a $20 dollar per truckload fee. Surplus also sells items on ebay. Check the link at left to see images and place bids.

Surplus removes unwanted equipment from departments; returns as much equipment as possible to other departments on campus; resells as much of the balance as possible to the public; recycles as much of that balance as possible through demanufacturing; and reduces the amount of equipment waste that is sent to the landfill.

HOURS
Surplus is open to the public on Thursdays, from 10am-6pm., for all sales - furniture, computers, and general merchandise. Surplus is open to University of Iowa departments from 9am-1pm on Wednesdays.

Revolving round cabinet. Music stands, ~2 dozen in stock. Media cabinet, 2 available.

Several dozen pair of denim jeans, many Wrangler and Lee brands, good condition. Sterile square media bottles, 1000 ml, ~6 dozen. Delta 16-inch variable speed scroll saw.

Podium. Harrison pipette plugger. Nice conference table, top in 2 pieces. Light fixtures, 5 available.

Glass strips: Several boxes @ 25-30 per box, most 25mm x 200mm x 10mm. File drawer frames. Levelor blinds: several sets. Portable display systems: several available. Metal file cabinets: very large quantity. Corkboards, marker boards: quite a few available. Please note: some but not all of the equipment is in working order. University Surplus makes no guarantees on purchases. Fitness equipment, ~8 different pieces. A few bicycles left. Lots of filters. Several locker units.
