Students and staff may purchase items at Surplus with their University of Iowa ID card (sorry, this does not apply to Hawk Room sales). Charges will be applied to their U-bill.

University Surplus sells equipment that UI departments no longer need and recycles items that cannot be reused. We are dedicated to selling equipment at a fair market price. Delivery of items is available within the Iowa City area for a $30 dollar per truckload fee. Surplus also sells items on ebay. Check the link at left to see images and place bids.

Surplus removes unwanted equipment from departments; returns as much equipment as possible to other departments on campus; resells as much of the balance as possible to the public; recycles as much of that balance as possible through demanufacturing; and reduces the amount of equipment waste that is sent to the landfill.

HOURS
Surplus is open to the public on Thursdays, from 10am-5pm., for all sales - furniture, computers, and general merchandise. Surplus is open to University of Iowa departments from 9am-1pm on Wednesdays.
