MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Property Management is to maintain accountability for all capitalized assets of the University and provide timely reports and data to all levels of University management, Federal agencies, and State agencies.
Effective July 1, 2009, the minimum capitalization threshold for software will increase to $500,000/license for all University of Iowa departments outside of UIHC. The minimum capitalization for UIHC will be $5,000/license. Software costing less than the minimum threshold or with a useful life of one year or less should be charged to Institutional Account of 6080.
During first quarter of FY2010, we will update the Operations Manual and PMO’s Procedures and FAQs to reflect the impact of this change. Federal Assets will continue to observe the federal asset minimum capitalization threshold of $5,000 and useful life greater than one year.
