The Active Office: Strength Training with Bands
Strength training bands are a great way to increase strength with no bulky, heavy equipment. They provide a range of intensities for most muscle groups. Bands are great for travel, desk storage, or to keep in the car between events. Participants in the feature will understand how to safely use bands to strengthen the entire body. Attending participants will receive a resistance band. Participants in this class will engage in standing low impact physical activity for health and fitness.
- Understand importance of small breaks for stretching/strength training throughout the workday. Know how to complete each stretch/exercise for continued use in a safe manner.
- Promote the importance of stretching/exercise to other co-workers, family, and friends.
- Understand resources available on campus for questions regarding activity participation.
Participants (audience course is aimed at):
This course is designed for individuals who have an interest in understanding and participating in basic stretches and/or strength training exercises. Although the course is created for office exercise, all activities can be done at home, while traveling or any other condition where space and equipment is a confounding factor for exercise.
