The Active Office: Office Exercise - No Equipment Necessary

Strength training doesn’t need to be done in a gym or with lots of equipment, this feature shows individuals how to use their body as a weight for all intensities and abilities. Participating in this feature will provide individuals with the knowledge of how to strengthen the entire body in 15 minutes with no equipment, and can be done right in the office. Participants in this class will engage in standing low impact physical activity for health and fitness.
- Understand importance of small breaks for stretching/strength training throughout the workday.
- Know how to complete each stretch/exercise for continued use in a safe manner.
- Promote the importance of stretching/exercise to other co-workers, family, and friends.
- Understand resources available on campus for questions regarding activity participation.
Participants (audience course is aimed at):
This course is designed for individuals who have an interest in understanding and participating in basic stretches and/or strength training exercises. Although the course is created for office exercise, all activities can be done at home, while traveling or any other condition where space and equipment is a confounding factor for exercise.
