Did you know that approximately 6,000 undergraduate students are employed with The University of Iowa? Wow! Come to this course to gain valuable knowledge or to be refreshed on the ins and outs of our student employment program. This course will give helpful information regarding advertising student positions, policies regarding the interview process, work-study procedures, and the different types of student appointments. It will also provide you with vital information regarding the rights and responsibilities provided to both the student and the employer.
Objectives: (At the end of this course participants will be able to)
- Explain the student employment program at The University of Iowa.
- Advertise, interview, and appoint student employees.
- Explain the rights and responsibilities provided to both the student employee and the employer.
Participants: (audience course is designed for)
This is a core course for the Supervising Today's Students (STS) certificate program. It is intended for UI faculty and staff who supervise undergraduate student employees. All STS courses are open to all regardless of participation in the certificate program.
