Increase your effectiveness in supporting employees with disabilities; learn when you should be talking and how to talk with employees about health conditions; gain leave management strategies including strategies to increase attendance and options to benefit your employees and your department.

- Be more effective in leading and coaching employees with disabilities
- Recognize primary disability and leave triggers and implement leader responsibilities
- Communicate with employees about disability needs
- Develop and implement leave management plans
Participants (audience course is aimed at):
This is an elective course for the Supervising @IOWA certificate program. It is intended for UI faculty and staff supervisors. All Supervising @IOWA elective courses are open to all supervisors regardless of participation in the certificate program.
Supervising @IOWA is designed for relatively new supervisors or as a comprehensive overview for more experienced supervisors that focus on the everyday practices that create a productive and respectful work environment.
