Funding a college education is one of the most valuable gifts someone can give a child. This program will help you understand and compare different college savings options, develop an effective investment strategy, discuss tax advantages of various plans, and explore financial aid. Much time will be spent discussing the State of Iowa’s two 529 college savings plans.
Objectives:
- Discuss college cost in today’s dollars and what it may cost in the future.
- Review advantages and disadvantages of various college savings plans.
- Discuss financial aid options and how they fit into a college plan.
- Learn the differences between Iowa’s two college savings plans.
