English Pronunciation for Non-native Speakers

Do you know English well, but find that your co-workers have trouble understanding you when you talk? Do you wish that you could improve your pronunciation, but you aren’t sure how to do it? Do you want help prioritizing what you need to work on? Do you want feedback from a trained English instructor? In this class, your pronunciation will be evaluated, and you will learn techniques to work on improving your pronunciation. We will try to focus on language that employees need to use frequently in their workplace. (Employees that would like to be registered should please contact the instructor, Jane Gressang, 335-5822, firstname.lastname@example.org, before the class in order to have their spoken English proficiency evaluated.)
Word stress, sentence stress, intonation, word final consonants and consonant clusters, vowel and consonant accuracy of key words, self-study techniques.
- Describe and understand the three aspects of their pronunciation that they most need to improve
- Describe at least three ways to work on their pronunciation on their own
- Pronounce some key words more accurately

Non-native speaking employees with an intermediate to advanced knowledge of english, Professional & Scientific or Merit staff only please!
